The Hungry Crab

My opinion of this place would be lower than one star but it's not possible. I arrived there after driving around starving looking for a place to eat. Walked to the person behind the hostess station asking for a menu before seated. Looking at the high prices, I asked about the sauces or the rubs that are used in the "bakes". The "bakes" that the prices start at like $27.99... I asked for them to let me taste the rubs or sauces... A little teaspoon or a small taste so I know what it taste like.... They said no. So I was going to spend 28$ without knowing what it taste like or an idea. ??? I got no help and was very rude... Would not suggest anyone to go there. Lots of $ to spend with rude service.

Food was good. Wish I knew about the combo specials before I left. Staff didn't mentioned it, so basically ordered off the menu. Food came with 2 sausage, but it was actually 2 thinly slice of sausage. Didn't turn out what I thought it to be. I felt they were being too cheap about that... Oh well guess I know beget for next time, if I ever decide to go again.

If I could give a lower score than 1 star I would. This place was terrible. Never in my life have I vomited before leaving a restaurant. I did today for the first time. The crab cake was oily and taste like week old grease. The fried scallops were even worse. The waiter kept mixing my husbands food with mine. They bring the food out in plastic bags like they are handing food to homeless people. You are better off fasting for the night then eating at this dump. Run the other way.

Will definitely need to visit this place again and soon! The service was so swift and catering. There was a good crowd on our visit. Just about all the tables have been taken. We were able to place our orders right away and received them so quickly. The staff was very catering with drink refills and checking in on us. We didn’t even have to wait more than a second to get attention. The food was absolutely delicious. We went with choice 3 and had plenty in the bag. I definitely recommend the snow crab legs! Our overall experience is more than 100%!! Thank you so much!!

The food was very good and had a very generous portion for the price. The Two Road IPA was very good. I got the fried combo basket with fries. Fish Shrimp and Calimari. My friend got one of their combo meals, that came in a large plastic bag. It was very entertaining watching him eat corn, crab legs, shrimp and potatoes out of a huge bag.

One of my great friends suggested this place after we had to attend a meeting in West Hartford. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back. We tried the bag order (think of it as a clambake in a bag) which is a mixture of seafood, your choice, and your choice of flavoring. If you do the bag you MUST get the Old Bay flavor. One of my friends got the cajun flavor, I'm from Mississippi trust me it was bland and not real Cajun flavor, and when he tried mine I had to beat him off. If you don't like a lot of flavor it might work for you. They have 6 flavors total if my memory serves and they offer other selections besides the bag, but if you love seafood you'll love this combination of crab legs, a lobster tail, clams, mussels, corn and potatoes. 😆 The price for that much seafood was well worth the experience and the food.They also provide you with bibs, plastic gloves, and a nutcracker. They also have IPAs and other alcoholic beverages. I am so glad I didn't listen to the negative reviews.
